Charges laid after brawl at Northbridge Community Fireworks 2025

One teenager released pending further investigation, while another has been hospitalised.

A teenager has been hospitalised and two others arrested after a brawl broke out at the Northbridge Community Fireworks 2025 event on Friday night.

Police attended the event after being alerted to a melee. After a foot pursuit two males — aged 15 and 16 — were arrested and taken into custody at Chatswood Police Station. 

A 17-year-old was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital to be treated for facial injuries.

The 16-year-old boy has been charged with “common assault, affray, behave in offensive manner in/near public place/school, armed with intent commit indictable offence, two counts of hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, assault police officer during public disorder”, police said.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at a children’s court on June 3. The 15-year-old was  released pending further investigation.
