Hunters Hill council seeking massive redevelopment of Gladesville Shopping Village
In the proposed plans, the overhaul is stated to cost at least $400 million.

Gladesville could receive a revamped shopping village, after Hunters Hill Council voted to forward their plans for the new shopping district to the Department of Planning.
The proposed plan would see Gladesville Shopping Village demolished and replaced with a new shopping complex, increased open, public space, and two 19-storey residential complexes.
If approved, the entire development would cost at least $400 million.
Hunters Hill Council needs to apply to the state government to move forward as the development they are proposing requires significant changes to planning restrictions (in particular, allowable height and floor space of buildings).
“At the moment there’s a lot of through-traffic”, Hunters Hill Mayor Zac Miles told 9News, “what we’d like to see is more people coming to Gladesville as a destination.”
However, it seems the decision to put forward this proposal was not unanimous. The two independent councillors sitting on Hunters Hill Council both voted down the proposal.
