It's getting hot in here

Warming suburbs, sleepy ministers, chef hats, and school holidays

⏱️ The 45th edition of our newsletter is a five-minute read.

Morning all,

I’ve been talking about heat all week, and it doesn’t look like I’ll be stopping any time soon. I put together a quick video yesterday explaining how trees and urban greening can stop our asphalt-covered suburbs from feeling like ovens in the summer.

Later this week I’ll talk about how state planning regulations could risk what defences the North Shore already has against global warming, in allowing our present tree canopy to shrink.

Let’s get into the news for this week.

SEEN THIS WEEK 🤓

Annata returns! After receiving word in July that the hatted Crows Nest restaurant would be moving on from its Willoughby Road location, it turns out they won’t be travelling so far, setting up shop in St Leonards.

That’s all from me this week! Remember, if you have a tip, feel free to reach out to me at [email protected]

Cheers,
