Public transport will be cooked this weekend
Twin closure of rail and metro lines means you may be bussin’.
A little commuter chaos is predicted for the North Shore this weekend, with both metro and rail lines closed for trackwork.
From the early hours of Saturday (March 28) until Monday morning (March 30) metro services will not run between Victoria Cross and Macquarie Park. Over that same period, trains will not run between Hornsby and Milsons Point.
Replacement buses will run along both lines. For those looking to cross the bridge, Metro services will operate between Victoria Cross and Sydenham.
The service shutdown comes as high fuel prices cause some people to reconsider driving. Unleaded 91 is sitting at around $2.47-$2.53 a litre at most North Shore petrol stations.
