Kurraba Reserve
Just down from Neutral Bay, Kurraba Reserve is a public park that offers a view of the city and bridge, blocked only slightly by neighbouring Kirribiili.
Bradfield Park and Mary Booth Lookout
One of the most popular spots for New Year’s Eve, Bradfield Park and the adjacent Mary Booth Lookout sit just under the harbour bridge, offering up close views of fireworks. According to the Sydney New Year’s Eve website, this spot hit capacity at 4:28pm last year, so get in early if you want a place.
Glass bottles and consumption of alcohol are prohibited in this area.
Lavender Bay Parklands and Clark Park
These two adjacent parks sitting between Blues Point and Milsons Point offer a superb view of the bridge and fireworks, so get in quick for a spot. According to the Sydney New Year’s Eve website, this spot hit capacity at 4:44pm last year.
Glass bottles and consumption of alcohol is prohibited in this area.
Waverton Park
While not having the clearest view of the bridge, Waverton Park has ample space for picnicking and public bathrooms nearby. If you’re looking for a slightly better view, you can always take a quick walk down the point to Berrys Bay Lookout, with a clear view of the bridge. Alcohol and glass prohibited.
Cremorne Point
From the top of Cremorne Reserve all the way down to Maccallum Pool, Cremorne Point is packed each year with families watching the fireworks. While this spot doesn’t have the most direct view of fireworks, it is significantly less crowded than other, closer vantage points. Alcohol and glass prohibited.
Manns Point Greenwich
Manns Point is just along the Greenwich headland from Greenwich Baths, offering beautiful rockfaces, bushland and views of the city and harbour.
Berry Island Reserve
Just down from Wollstonecraft, Berry Island is a bushland reserve with a short scenic loop walk and elevated harbour views. You will also find vast stretches of green grass.
Curraghbeena Park
On Raglan Street in a quiet, residential part of Mosman, Curraghbeena Park is a little known spot for firework viewing due to its elevated position. Limited space available.
