The small restaurant bringing quality Persian cuisine to the heart of Willoughby

Though slightly on the pricier side, this restaurant is worth it when you factor in the incredible service and atmosphere.

As soon as I walk into Tida Persian Food, Milad, one of the owners, comes out to greet me. I’m not super familiar with Persian cuisine, so he ran me through the menu and even gave a couple recommendations.

I settled with a koobideh kebab tahdig bowl and a shirazi salad on the side. I also got Tida’s special drink, which is a chilled tea with Saffron, Rose and Lemon.

The tahdig comes out crispy on the top, with fluffy saffron rice underneath once you crack through, and of course with cranberries and pistachios. Underneath the rice you have this earthy, tender meat — mine was Koobideh, so lamb and beef. The shirazi salad was super fresh and paired really nicely with my main.

All up my meal set me back 44 dollars, which is a bit on the pricier side, but definitely worth it when you factor in how good the service and atmosphere here is. There’s so many items on this menu I’m keen to come back and try, like persian spaghetti, cold yoghurt soup, and saffron pannacotta.

You can find Tida Persian Food at 304 Penshurst St, North Willoughby.
