During a recent trip to Berowra, where the command centre for the region’s Rural Fire Service is based, we asked Dan Meijer — District Manager — about the area’s bushfire history.

Meijer discussed the Glenorie fire in 2002, which ran through the Marramarra National Park.

The fire was able to be contained, but Meijer showed just how predictable the direction of a large bushfire is.
