In late July, Annata owner John Bligh announced that the hatted restaurant would be moving on from its Crows Nest location, following a rent hike.

A new site has been found, with the fine dining restaurant settling nearby in St Leonards, at 66 Chandos Street. The site was previously home to seafood restaurant Peterman.

Speaking to the Lorikeet, Annata owner and general manager John Bligh expressed frustration at a rental economy that made it harder and harder for small businesses to compete with franchises and fast food chains.
