Total Fire Ban in place across North Shore on October 22
The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast temperatures as high as 38 degrees tomorrow.

The NSW Rural Fire Service has declared an extreme fire risk for tomorrow, October 22.
A Total Fire Ban has been put in place across the Greater Sydney Region. This means no fires are to be lit in the open. Activities that are likely to cause a fire, or general purpose hot works — welding, grinding or gas cutting — are also not allowed to be undertaken outside.
☀️ The forecast
The Bureau of Meteorology forecast states that tomorrow Sydney will reach a maximum temperature of 38 degrees celsius with stronger than average winds. There is also a possibility of thunderstorms in the late afternoon and early evening.
One of the main impacts of climate change, as stated in the National Climate Risk Assessment, is an increase in fire susceptibility in Eastern Australia.
ℹ️ What to do
During an extreme fire risk rating, NSW Rural Fire Service recommends:
Checking your bush fire plan and ensuring your property is ready
Taking immediate action if a fire starts
If you or your property are not prepared to the highest level, moving to a safer location well before the fire impacts
Reconsidering travel through bush fire risk areas
