🎰 Four states gave pokie operators $1.4bn in tax breaks while Australians lose $13 billion having a slap
Australians lose around $13 billion on pokies a year.
At the same time, state governments in NSW, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia handed the industry $1.4 billion in tax breaks in the last financial year. NSW accounts for most of it, and the bulk goes to the biggest earners.
